Northern Lights from a plane window over Siberia

I was photographing the aurora on an overnight flight from London to China last week over a good couple of hours. A lot of people think the Aurora moves at the speed they’re used to seeing it in videos. Though as almost all of those videos are timelapses the real thing can be disappointing to some, so I’ve got some timelapses here, photos but I’ve also got a video clip in the second video. As it’s a lot harder to video the Northern Lights in realtime I believe the second video below is the first real time footage of the Northern Lights ever taken from a plane window. The cameras that can do it have only just become available and I always light to check the night skys on long haul flights. Even still I really was lucky to catch them on the flight, years of pressing my face against plane windows at night finally paid off!
